A crowd of 360 saw Barking lift the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy for 2014-15 after defeating Clapton 4-2 at Burnham Ramblers Leslie Field ground today.
Joe Staunton gave Barking the lead in the first minute of stoppage time with a screamer from the edge of box before Ben O’Brien doubled their lead in the 46th minute, smashing into the net.
James Briggs scores with a direct free kick from 25 yards into the top corner for Clapton in the 56th minute to bring them right back into the contest but then saw Tom Jeffes restore Barking’s two goal advantage in the 78th minute.
Glen Golby slotted home the Blues fourth with ten minutes to go and although Jake Stevens pulled a goal back with three minutes to go the Tons were defeated although they have another final to contest next Sunday.
As for Barking they avenge Tuesday night’s League Cup Semi Final defeat and end their season with some silverware at least.
