Barking 1 Clapton 0
Ben Turner’s penalty proved enough for Barking to see off Clapton and extend their winning streak to four matches.
Turner fired home after only 15 minutes for his third goal of the season and 31st of his Barking career.
A crowd of 160 – buoyed by Clapton’a vociferous following – witnessed a hard-fought east London derby at Mayesbrook Park.
But Tons could not find a way back and saw their three-match unbeaten run come to an end, although they remained in fifth place.
They return to action next Saturday with a trip to Stansted.
Victory made it 19 points out of a possible 21 for Mick O’Shea’s side, who remain on the heels of runaway leaders Haringey Borough, who visit Mayesbrook Park on Tuesday.Blues closed to within six points of the table toppers, who were without a match, but have played one game more ahead of their midweek showdown.
