Clapton 2 Greenhouse London 2
Points are shared in a cracking London Derby at ‘The Dog’
Clapton played host to Greenhouse London last night in the first game at ‘The Dog’ for over 50 days due to the poor weather we have been having this winter.
And it was the home side who drew first blood when Tom Jeffes nodded in after the Greenhouse keeper had made an error. This was enough to give the ‘Tons’ a 1-0 halftime lead and cheered on by the partizan ‘ultras’ the home side looked to build on this lead.
However Greenhouse weren’t about to lie down and duly levelled the match at 1-1 on 53 minutes when Billy Reynolds let fly with a 40 yard screamer giving Diagne in the Clapton goal no chance.
On 72 minutes Clapton re took the lead through a superb James Briggs free kick but then seconds later Greenhouse made it 2-2 through a great team goal finished off by James Anderson. It was a truly fantastic London Derby this and in the end both teams gained a point although ‘The Tons’ would be disappointed not to have gained all three as they were the better side in this contest.
The point does move Clapton up to 8th in the league while Greenhouse move up one place to 18th.
